They're already in crisis mode. Over the decades I've never seen them so aggressive in their control as they've been since they divvied the WT into a PR version and a Kool Aid version. They're going even more loony than they've ever gone and thinking dubs are noticing. When close to 12,000 people partake at this year's Memorial, they're going to all have to change their Depends.

JWs having Facebook Sex - Strongly warned to get off FB at CA yesterday
by shopaholic inso it appears that jws are letting their freaky side come out on fb for everyone to see.. there was talk on the ca yesterday strongly warning all true lovers of jehovah to delete their fb accounts.
the talk was solely about fb.
the speaker mentioned that jws are associating with people that would not associate with in real life, often using the excuse that the person is a relative.

I think the WT referred to might be the 11/15/09 article "Treasure Your Place in the Congregation" (apologies for the flaky font stuff going on)
One way to find our place in the congregation and give evidence that we treasure it is to cooperate fully with “the faithful and discreet slave” and its representative Governing Body. (ReadMatthew24:45-47.) We need to examine our response to the direction we receive from the slave class. Over the years, for example, we have received pointed direction on dress and grooming, entertainment, and improper use of the Internet. Do we carefully heed this good counsel so that we are spiritually protected? What about the admonition to establish a regular routine of family worship? Have we taken the advice to heart and set aside an evening for that purpose? If we are single, are we making time for personal study of the Scriptures? Jehovah will bless us individually and as families if we follow the guidance of the slave class.
Some might reason that areas such as entertainment and dress and grooming are personal matters. For the dedicated Christian who cherishes his place in the congregation, though, personal preferences should not be the sole determining factor when making decisions. Consideration must especially be given to Jehovah’s viewpoint as revealed through his Word, the Bible. Its message should prove to be ‘a lamp to our foot, and a light to our roadway.’ (Ps. 119:105) We are wise also to consider how the choices we make in personal matters affect our ministry and other people, both inside and outside the congregation.—Read2 Corinthians6:3, 4.
“The spirit that now operates in the sons of disobedience” is so widespread that it is like the air we breathe. (Eph. 2:2) That spirit can cause us to think that we do not need guidance from Jehovah’s organization. Surely we do not want to be like Diotrephes, who would not ‘receive anything from the apostle John with respect.’ (3 John 9, 10) We need to guard against developing a spirit of independence. By word or action, may we never challenge the channel of communication that Jehovah is using today. (Num. 16:1-3) On the contrary, we should cherish our privilege to cooperate with
the slave class. And should we not strive to be obedient and submissive to those taking the lead in our local congregation?—ReadHebrews13:7, 17.
Another way to show that we cherish our place in the congregation is by closely examining our personal circumstances and doing all we can to ‘glorify our ministry’ and bring honor to Jehovah. (Rom. 11:13) Some are able to be regular pioneers. Others serve in such special forms of full-time service as missionaries, traveling overseers, and members of Bethel families throughout the world. Many brothers and sisters assist with Kingdom Hall construction. The great majority of Jehovah’s people are doing their best to care for the spiritual needs of their families and have a full share in the ministry each week. (ReadColossians3:23, 24.) We can be confident that when we offer ourselves willingly in God’s service and do our best to serve him whole-souled, there is always a place for us in his arrangement."

Mill Hill Disfellowshippings
by BorgHater ina few months ago there was a thread about a couple of elders at the mill hill bethel being disfellowshipped because they disagreed with some wt doctrine (i can't recall exactly what it was) and that several other betheliteswere under 'investigation'.

Very heartbreaking. Thanks to people like Ray Franz and Ed Dunlap, I will never sit for a judicial committee. I have no hope for a fair hearing and I no longer recognize their "judicial" authority anyway. When they finally decide to have one, they'll be having it alone.

I don't believe that talking about sex is having sex. I don't believe that typing about sex is having sex. I don't believe that spanking one's monkey with one hand while typing about sex with the other and reading about sex with your eyes is having sex either. If you're alone, you're not having sex...period.
And I agree that this isn't a problem in JW world. The problem the GB has is that people are connecting with other people. Part of keeping people in a cult is keeping them isolated.

I told my husband that I'm going to throw away my no blood card
by doublelife ini discussed my view with him and he understood the point i made but said that until he receives further instruction from the gb he will still refuse a transfusion.
i asked him if he would deny me a blood transfusion if i needed one and he said, "i don't know.
i went to lunch with my non-jw aunt and cousin and told them about the conversation.

They've done away with (or limited the use of, perhaps) the full-size "durable power of attorney" and now have a mini-sized one that folds up into a wallet-sized "blood card." It has all your fraction and cell saver choices on it and everything. What a loving provision!

I feel so sorry for my child. I've only been wise to the WT scam for a few months now and I have discovered how deeply indoctrinated into this cult I made my child.
The other day I just pulled out a Bible and read a scritpture about how the name of Jesus Christ is the only name by which we must get saved (I don't recall where it was at the moment, sorry), then asked: "So what name do we call on to get saved?" My child's answer? "Jehovah."
God, I am so sorry. I don't even know who God is anymore but I pray every day to help free my child's mind.

11/09 Awake quoted the UN Chronicle a couple times: " The UNChronicle reports that “two thirds of newborn deaths could be prevented if all mothers and newborns” obtained medical treatment that is “well-known, feasible and deliverable without complex technology.” Sadly, though, the lack of knowledge and the laxity in prenatal care on the part of mothers is all too common, reports the Philippines News Agency.
“Healthier mothers have healthier babies,” says the UNChronicle. It also observes that when a woman gets inadequate medical care or none at all during pregnancy, childbirth, and the period thereafter, her baby also receives little or no medical care.
12/09 Awake also has a blurb: “Although the rate of net loss of forest has decreased in recent years, the world is still losing about [80 square miles] [200sq km] of forest a day.”—FOOD AND AGRICULTURE ORGANIZATION OF THE UNITED NATIONS, ITALY.
Nothing in the Watchtower since the Bible Highlights from Revelation in 2/15/09 WT: " This symbolic wild beast began as the League of Nations and was later revived as the United Nations. Should not the unraveling of this mystery move us to be zealous in preaching the good news of God’s Kingdom and proclaiming the day of Jehovah’s judgment?"

Elders Contempt for the Old & Disabled
by LittleSister inas they get older many loyal jws find it hard to get to the meetings due to poor health and disability , my mother falls into this category.
there are also others who are disabled or unable to physically be at meetings from time to time.
for many years our congregation taped the meetings and distributed these tapes so all could enjoy the spiritual food of the meetings.

In the US, there are systems where the cost is a flat monthly rate and it doesn't matter if one person phones in or two dozen. If your elders get picky about it, just call the kid working the sound instead; he'll give you the code as long as the elders don't know about it.

I've been online since being online was possible for a member of the general public and I still haven't figured out how it's possible to "have sex" online.
Seriously. How is it even possible? I mean, you could type about it, maybe post a vid clip or a pic but how is that "having sex" on Facebook?
Answer: it isn't.
